Pay attention to any restrictions and rules that must be followed: e.g. world studies contemporary rule, history 10 year rule. Glance at the nature of the subject to determine if your topic fits within the EE subject guide for that subject. Read the sample topics and research questions to see if those clarify the expectations for an EE in this subject. Go back and read Section 6: Assessment and provide a detailed summary of the major points. Each subject specific guide will have their own interpretations of the assessment criteria that you must familiarize yourself with - these will provide you with an understanding of the requirements for an essay in this subject, as well.
